Music
The art of arranging sounds in time so as to
produce a continuous, unified and evocative
composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm
and timbre.
"Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes
the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and
makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul."

The Power of Music
Happy November everyone.
Can you believe it's almost the end of the year?
My mother always says that the older you get,
the faster the time goes and I do believe that
to be true; or at least it feels that way.
It's been quite a year for many of us. It seems
like one challenge after another appeared,
sometimes like clockwork. This month, I'd like
to encourage taking a time out. Give yourself
permission to step away from any chaos you may
be experiencing and relax. One way to do that is
though taking the time to listen to music.
I have always liked and appreciated music. What
about you? Many of us have a favorite song or
preferable kind of music. When was the last time
you stopped what you were doing and took a few
minutes or an entire hour (you are deserving)
just to "listen to the music"? Taking the time
to do so is food for the soul and I definitely
recommend nourishing the soul.
One of my memories as a child is that of my
mother, who after surviving hours of my singing
and dancing around the house at full throttle,
would ask me to take a break and please sit
down, silently. I think just watching me
exhausted her. I'd jump around the house with a
hair brush pretending I was Diana Ross or Karen
Carpenter or whoever else was singing on the
radio. I knew the lyrics to all of the songs and
never grew tired of entertaining myself. I'd
fall to sleep with the radio tuned to my
favorite station every night and I practically
woke up in the morning singing. Though the
friends I sang with seemed to think I sounded
OK, this was not the case with my brothers, who
told me I sounded terrible as they plugged their
ears. This didn't stop me. Music made me happy,
told wonderful stories and was the great escape.
As a skinny kid with the nickname Twiggy, which
I was none too fond of, music and theatre were
my salvation. I sang in the choir, performed in
musicals in high school and college and as an
adult recorded CDs. Music was, and continues to
be, such an amazing way to experience emotion
and to take a journey. It can inspire and
motivate and who among us couldn't use a little
of that?
So turn on the radio, sing in the shower, start
a duet with your co-worker. Just sing! This is
an ideal stress reducer and energy booster.
Don't let anyone tell you that you "can't" sing.
Sure you can; if it brings you joy, that's all
that matters!
I'd like to share a reminder to believe in
yourself, whether it's to be a singer or
whatever else is on your wish list. Click on the
link below to hear a song I wrote, called
"Believe", (special thanks to Producer Barry
Carollo). May you enjoy the vibration of the
message. Feel free to sing along. The lyrics are

listen to "Believe."
Believe
Believe that life is something special
Believe that all dreams do come true
Believe that if your heart is open
All you wish for will come to you
Believe your journey is worth living
Believe your soul is full of light
Believe the children are the future
And the path you walk down will be bright
Chorus: Believe in light
Trust in love
Count your blessings from above
Cherish every sun filled day and moon filled
night
Know that you are not
alone
Others you need not condone
Live with integrity
And you will shine
Believe that you are such a blessing
Believe that others care for you
Believe that you can make a difference
With all you say and all you do
Believe that everything has purpose
Believe your heart is full of joy
Believe that your life's an example
For every little girl and little boy
Chorus
Believe that life is something special
Believe that all dreams do come true
Believe that if your heart is open
All you wish for will come to you
